Our little fighter!

Morgana

Morgana arrived with us as part of a litter of six farm kittens, on  the 18th July 2025, aged around 5 weeks old.  it became apparent right away that Morgana was struggling, as he was so small, not even half the size of his siblings. after a vet check, it was initially thought, being farm cats, that he came from a different litter and was a lot younger than the others.  we commenced extra bottle feeding and vitamins, to give him a boost.

On the 25 July, just a few days later, Morgana became very poorly,  We rushed him to the vets, and he was given fluids and antibiotics, Poor Morgana was very poorly, but he rallied, and recovered back to his bouncy self.

As a rescue we made the decision that Morgana would be much better off in a 1-1 foster home, and he made the journey up to our foster carer, where he remains to this day.

Morgana became poorly again at his foster, and this time the vet suggested that Morgana may have a condition called Portosystemic shunt, which means the blood is not getting filtered by the liver correctly. unfortunately, due to Morganas very small size, it isnt possible to do the tests right now.   He was prescribed a regular medication, which at the moment is keeping Morgana fit and active, and in every way, he is a normal kitten, eating and drinking, and being very active.

He is gaining weight daily, he needs to triple his weight before the vets are comfortable enough to starts the tests with a blood test, unless of course, it becomes and emergency.  But while he is active, eating and drinking normally, we have taken the decision, as a team, to wait.  Morgana has regular check ups with the vet to ensure he is staying on the right track.

Morgana is currently the size of a 3-4 week old kitten, Our little pocket rocket!  His size does not slow him down!
